So glad to visit with Teacher Fellows this week! I always share with prospective Fellows that one of the BEST decisions I ever made was to apply for a program that was just beginning but showed amazing potential to change so many lives. We will be talking about bitmoji, google jamboards and drawing. I’m ready to dive in for some great discussion on how these tools with support student engagement and learning next year! Click each slide below to access the slide decks.
gif it over for brush ninja
I have used brush ninja a few times this year to allow kids a chance to make their own animated gifs while illustrating their learning. One week we illustrated vocabulary terms, some students showed a change in a character’s feelings, and others showed natural disasters or events. No matter the task, brush ninja allows an element of creativity in their demonstration of understanding. We can’t get enough! Easy to use and customize, students learn quickly how to change a background, duplicate a slide to show change gradually, and to save to their google drives and share images with peers. Here are a few students samples, all quickly created in one class session.
summertime books and jams
Vacations aren’t a given for all kids, especially this year. But I think we can all dream about what we would like to do this summer – and these jamboards are meant to get them planning for the vaca they’d like to take after they read a bit from this bitlibrary about summer. First, a jam to plan out the vacation top items, then they can use the pictures to have a friend guess where they are going. Need a writing prompt? Create a postcard on the jam telling about the best day on vacation! Here’s my example jam to get the vaca clues started.
