I spotted a jamboard on my internet travels that led me to building this bitlibrary on pizza and pasta. I also enjoyed making a jamboard based on that inspirational first one for my own students to design and slice up a pizza pie! I can’t wait for the day we get to have pizza parties again- who would have thought I’d miss those messy food fests? To edit for your own use make a copy from the file menu drop down. creepy pair of underwear & google slides
There are several great versions of read alouds for Creepy Pair of Underwear on the interwebs, but the author’s rendition is my favorite. I made a drag and drop google slide activity to celebrate! Click bit.ly/bgbscun to make a copy to edit for your students. This could turn mathish if you add rulers and require measuring facial features, symmetry, or rotations!
the read deal- writing for an audience
As a former fourth grade teacher (in Texas that means writing test writing test writing test) and as a sometimes school newspaper editor, I have always valued authentic writing opportunities as far more valuable for students than out of touch exercises meant to help us pass a test. When I searched for others who were doing just that- providing data and examples of authentic audience, I found fuel to pursue more real writing goals for kids. This presentation centers on using GSuite tools to help students produce pieces that are intrinsically motivating to publish because they are engaging and they can be shared with people OUTSIDE of the classroom for a real-world feedback session. Have a suggestion? Drop me a note (look, real-world writing). Click the image below to access the slide deck.
